In Chapter Four of Understanding Nursing Research, the authors discuss a common “hot topic” in medical research: protecting human rights. Read about historical events that influenced the development of ethical codes and regulations in chapter four. Choose one of the studies to focus on. Reference an article on that experiment and discuss the ethical issues of this experiment. Despite the study being unethical, note any unintended, positive (or potentially positive) outcomes of the study. Use a reference that is no more than 5 years old and cite the reference at the end of the discussion. Remember to include your book as a reference if you refer to it. You do not have to cite within the text. Responses should be at least 300 words in length.
