Compare and Contrast Essay/Presentation
Students will work on a compare and contrast project that will explore and explain how and why two or more films, pieces of music, video games, graphic novels, short stories, poems or characters, ideas, concepts, cultures or sports are alike or dislike. Students along with the two main sources for this essay/presentation will be required to do additional research and provide a work cited page listing these sources. The goal being an analytical comparative argument for students’ reasoning in choosing and exploring the two concepts being compared or contrasted. Defending and explaining your reasoning/argument.
The essay should be 3 to 4 pages long before the works cited page. MLA style
You will need 3 to four sources listed on the work cited page.
You will have to use parenthetical references/citations in the text and make sure they correlate to the sources listed on the Works Cited.
The font type should be Times New Roman 12 point size.
Students must come up with their own title for the essay and it should be centered and underlined on the first line with one space between title and endorsement and one space between title and essay.
The essay should be double spaced.
Paragraphs should be indented. There should be and introduction paragraph, several body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph.
Name, Class/section number and date single spaced in the upper left-hand corner. This is the endorsement.
Last name and page number in upper right-hand corner.
No page numbers on the work cited page.
